Plasmonic Metamaterials

Plasmonic metamaterial is an object that gains its optical material properties from its metallic nano structure rather than inheriting them directrly from the materials it is composed of. We have theoretically investigated the magnetic response and confirmed that by using gold or silver as a metal, we can realize negative magnetic permeability in the visible light region. Now we are trying to realize this plasmonic metamaterial. We also proposed novel optical component that incorporates the metamaterial techniques like nonpolarising Brewster devices.
