Three-dimensional multi-layered tera byte optical storage with gold nano-particles

We are developing the three-dimensional multi-layered optical storage to realize the next generation tera-byte optical recording techniques. In this research, by utilizing the nonlinear optical phenomena such as multi-photon absorption, and control technique of dye moleculesf fluorescence emission by energy transferring between dye and metallic complex ions, we can record the bit-wise data inside the recording thick materials three-dimensionally. By employing this method we will increase the recording capacity of optical storage devices as high as 1 tera-byte per 120 mm disk or 1cm3 cube.
